What is 5G
5G is basically the newer version (5ht Generation) of the technology currently used on cellular networks. Currently, we use 3G and 4G (LTE) among others. 5G will without a doubt open new doors of opportunities in all dimensions of communication and business.
We can not yet fathom what 5G technology will bring and the creativity it will unleash among entrepreneurs.
What speeds do I get?
Download: On average between 100 and 200mbps
Upload: Between 25 and 40mbps
5G offers speeds up to 400Mbps and the simplest way to get your home connected.
Is 5G in my area?
5G is being rolled out to major metros and surrounding areas in South Africa. Currently, certain areas in Johannesburg, Tshwane, and Cape Town have 5G coverage. Durban and all other major metros are still being deployed at the time of this article. For coverage please view the official Rain website below:
Our Rain 5G Installation Packages:
Our BASIC 5G only includes the Rain 5G Signal find, installed and 1 x 30m outdoor UV protected cable. You will loose 95% wireless coverage indoor once the Rain5G is mounted outside. We have 2 other options that includes internal wireless coverage.
Our BASIC 5G Package start at R1 999 and includes:
- Rian5G signal find
- Outdoor cable UP to 30m (Cable from Rain to Inside)
- Call Out
- Labor: Team of 2 technicians.
Rain will be mounted outside and an OUTDOOR cable brought in and plugged into a 5 Port gigabit switch. The switch gives you the option to plug in 4 more devices such as Notebooks, PC, Gaming consoles etc. You will lose 95% wireless coverage indoor once the Rain5G is mounted outside. We have 2 other options that includes internal wireless coverage.
Our GIGABIT 5G Package starts at R2 599 and includes: (NO Wi-Fi)
- Rian5G signal find
- Outdoor cable UP to 30m (Cable from Rain to Inside)
- Pole Kit
- Call Out
- Labor: Team of 2 technicians.
- Includes 5 port Gigabit Switch
- 1 x 3m Fly lead
This option is the same as our GIGABIT option, the only difference is we include an ENTRY level Access Point (300mbps) for internal wireless coverage.
Our WI-FI 5G Package starts at R3 499 and includes:
- Rian5G signal find
- Outdoor cable UP to 30m (Cable from Rain to Inside)
- Pole Kit
- Call Out
- Labor: Team of 2 technicians.
- Includes 5 port Gigabit Switch
- 1 x 3m Fly lead
- 1 x WiFi AP (TP-link 300mbps)
This option is the same as our WI-FI 5G option, the only difference is we include an UBIQUITY Long Range Wireless Access Point (1,700 mbps) for internal wireless coverage.
Our ADVANCED Wi-Fi 5G Package start at R5899 and includes:
- Rian5G signal find
- Outdoor cable UP to 30m (Cable from Rain to Inside)
- Pole Kit
- Call Out
- Labor: Team of 2 technicians.
- Includes 5 port Gigabit Switch
- 1 x 3m Fly lead
- 1 x Ubiquity Unify AC-LR Long Range AP (Dual WAN, GIG LAN, 600 feet range)
- 1 x LAN point indoor: To mount AP Ceiling mount
- Additional LAN points @ R650 each, Please see pricing on the website
- Additional AC-LR unify AP @ R2250 each
- Additional 5 Port Gigabit Switch @ R550 each
- Additional 8 Port Gigabit Switch @ R650 each
- 16x16mm (2meter) Trunking @ R35 each
- 6U Cabinet Installed @ R1650 each
- 9U Cabinet Installed @ R1850 each
All packages exclude trunking, working at heights or extensive labor. We do offer cabling to other Rooms/Devices and WiFi solutions for bigger homes as this is our core business.
If no installation takes place because of weak signal there is a Call out charged at R650/R750 for the signal find and travel.
